Welcome to Xara Designer Pro X We've included below some links that will help you get started, from example artwork and templates to movies, forums and support pages. Designs Gallery Open the Designs gallery by moving your mouse pointer over the Designs gallery tab near the top right of this window. The gallery closes again once you move your mouse pointer away, or you can make it stay open docked on the right if you click the pin icon in the top right corner of the gallery. See the Help for more information on gallery docking. If you are running online the gallery will automatically download and show currently available content the first time you run. The program quickly looks for content updates online each time it starts, so you’ll receive any new or modified templates automatically.  Click on a folder icon in the gallery (or double click the folder name) to reveal its contents and then double click on a design thumbnail to open a design. In the trial version of this program blue folders contain designs that can be used during the trial and red folders contain content that will be instantly available once you purchase and unlock online. The Introduction folder contains this document, plus ‘Websites Intro’, which is a quick introduction to this program’s powerful website creation capabilities. The Examples folder contains many impressive designs created by some talented users of this program The Website Template Themes folder is the place to find a wide variety of customizable website templates, from which you can rapidly create an entire website. See the ‘Websites Intro’ document in the Introduction folder to see how easy it is. The first theme listed is free to try in the trial. The Free Example Templates folder includes just a small selection of other customizable templates to give trial users a taste of the large collection of templates that are available in the other folders in the gallery after purchasing. Look under the Page Elements folder to find a wide variety of graphics, photo features, charts, live widgets and other elements that you can add to your web pages or documents. Customizing Templates Once you’ve found a template you like you’ll want to customize its text, colors and photos. Read the “Working with Templates” page in the help for a quick introduction on how best to do this. Open the Help using the Help menu and then search for “Templates”. View the Movies The demo movies are a great place to start learning about Designer Pro X. Select ‘Movies’ from the Help menu to go to the movies on our website. The short intro movies help you start learning what Designer Pro can do.
